Our Mission :

Revolutionize The Way You Get Screened For Cancer

Our journey began in 2010 with a simple yet powerful mission: to make colon cancer screening accessible and affordable for everyone, especially those without insurance. Our parent company, Assist Health launched, ColonoscopyAssist, a grassroots initiative dedicated to helping uninsured individuals access lifesaving colonoscopies at a fraction of the typical cost.

But as we met more patients and heard their stories, we realized something important: a colonoscopy isn’t always the right fit for everyone. Some people needed a simpler, cheaper and less invasive option—and they needed it at home, on their terms.

That’s when at Assist Health we created ColonCancerScreeningKit.com, a dedicated service offering the FIT test, one of the most effective at-home screening tools for colorectal cancer. We registered as a lab focused solely on this test, making the process as easy, fast, and affordable as possible. No confusion. No red tape. Just a straightforward path to getting screened.

Today, we mail thousands of kits directly to individuals’ doorsteps across the country. Small insurance plans and employers rely on us to help screen their populations quickly, reliably, and cost-effectively. Behind the scenes, we’re powered by Assist Health, the same caring team behind ColonoscopyAssist, RadiologyAssist, LaboratoryAssist and a growing family of programs focused on access and affordability.

This work is deeply personal to us. We’ve seen what happens when people go unscreened. Not because they don’t care, but because the system made it too hard or too expensive. That’s why we’ve gone to great lengths to remove those barriers. Because everyone deserves the chance to catch colon cancer early, when it’s most treatable.

At our core, we are here for one reason: to help people. And we’re honored to play a small role in saving lives, one screening at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

An at‑home colorectal cancer screening kit is a non‑invasive test that allows individuals—especially those at average risk—to collect stool samples at home and send them to a laboratory for analysis. These kits serve as convenient alternatives to colonoscopy and help detect signs of colorectal cancer early, improving treatment outcomes. The medical name for the test is fecal immunochemical test or FIT and is considered a Tier 1 test for colorectal cancer.

It is generally recommended to take a FIT test once a year if you are over 45 and have no family history of colorectal cancer. Speak with your doctor for personalized guidance.

The FIT test detects tiny invisible amounts of blood in your stool using antibodies. After collecting a sample with the provided kit, you send it to our lab for analysis. It’s quick, easy, and requires no dietary restrictions.

Yes. But there’s a catch. Preventative screenings such as FIT must be covered at $0 copay as per the Affordable Care Act law. However, once the FIT screening is covered and comes back positive, the insurance plan is not required to cover your Colonoscopy as preventative. Most individuals complete the FIT out-of-pocket as its costs is so low so as to not jeopardize a colonoscopy not being covered if needed.

No. While a colonoscopy is more comprehensive and considered the gold standard, it is also a very invasive test. Out at-home FIT test is a highly reliable first-line screening tool for persons at average risk of colorectal cancer. Our FIT test is 87% sensitive.

Adults aged 45 and older who are at average risk for colorectal cancer are typically recommended to start regular screening. A home test kit is ideal for those seeking a private, convenient, and affordable screening option. Also, remember our test kit only allows for sample collection at-home. The test is processed at our lab once samples are returned via our pre-paid return label.

The cost of the Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is just $40.00. This includes everything needed to collect the sample along with return postage and your report.

A portal link to view your reports will be sent to your email address once results are available. Results are typically ready within 7 days of the lab receiving the samples. A copy of your reports is faxed to your primary physician if provided.

The test is a highly accurate method of screening that detects hidden blood in the stool. ColonCancerScreeningKit.com uses InSure® ONE™ screening kits, which have a sensitivity rate of 88% and a specificity rate of 97%.

Screening for colorectal cancer for all adults is recommended to begin at age 45 by The National Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society. FIT can be completed yearly to stay current with screenings.

No. ColonCancerScreeningKit.com does not require a referring or primary physician for the test. However, if PCP information is provided, we will send a copy of your report to them.
